For the protection of analycess procurement we employ to solutions by Wibu Systems.
The whole setup is explained in "Requirements for a floating license server". The following steps must be performed on the server side.
Overview of the installation process
The image above shows the three main steps that must be done for installation.
Installation of CodeMeter Runtime
Download the User Runtime for your platform from https://www.wibu.com/support/user/user-software.html and run the installer.
Configure CodeMeter as a network service
- Open http://127.0.0.1:22350/ in your browser.
- Open the tab "Configuration" -> "Server" if you are running the latest version of CodeMeter Runtime. For older versions (before 5.0) just chose tab "Configuration".
- Select "Enable" the Network Server
- Click "Apply"
The service will restart after the last step.
If needed, you can bind the the CodeMeter license server to a network address or an other port here.
Open CodeMeter Control Center
Open Windows' Programs Menu and start CodeMeter Control Center. In some cases the main window will start hidden. Therefore, doubleclick the tray icon shown above.
Import the virtual license container
You will get a file named like CmActFirm-SomeName.wbc from Processbench. Drag and Drop this file from the Windows Explorer to the CodeMeter Control Center or start the import from "File" menu. A new empty license container will appear on the left hand side.
Ask for activation / send WibuCmRaC file
Just click "Activate license" in the main window . Choose "Create license request" in the following step and send the new .WibuCmRaC file back to your Processbench contact.
Import the license update
You will get back a .WibuCmRaU file. You can drag and drop it to the main window in the same way or use the menu: File -> Import License.
Create an update request
This step is optional, but makes it easier for both sides to perform the next license change or update. Just choose "License Update" in the main Window and ignore the following warning.
Review the served licenses
You can see all available licenses here: http://127.0.0.1:22350/Server.html
The example above shows 42 licenses at all. 8 licenses are available at this moment, because 34 are used by users.
Please write down your server DNS name or IP address and proceed with "Configuration of analycess procurement for the floating service on user side".
It is useful to state the server IP/name to the Processbench support, in order to help users faster and check the correct configuration.
